The Fulabura dam project in Borana

The Fulabura dam project in Borana started to catch /Contain water after heavy rains.

According to Eng. Talila Getinet the Executive Representative projact Manager construction of the Fulabura dam is one of the three dam projects being carried out by the Walabu Construction Share Company in Borana Zone. The Projact was started with Contract amount of 125 Million which was Increased to 179 Million after the revaised contract and the project is currently at 89 percent completion and the current rains have caught more water than expected.

Walabu Construction Share Company has been working continuously to fulfill the trust that the government and the people laid up on it in recovering the drought problem in the Zone.

The Executive Representative Project manager Engineer Talila said that the remaining works are being completed as soon as possible.

The community we spoke to said that they are happy with the construction of the dam and are currently receiving services from the water held by the dam.
